Rooting & Rising
Empowering our community through relationships and data-driven changes to inspire trauma-informed practices
School of Beauty
1,000-hour trauma-informed NYS cosmetology licensing program with therapeutic support for survivors and those at risk
Beautiful Futures
Life and soft skills training that equips survivors with tools for daily life, healing, and employment.
Survivor-Informed Approach
Our programs are designed with direct input from survivors, ensuring culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. We understand that each survivor's journey is unique, and our approach reflects this understanding through personalized support plans, flexible scheduling, and survivor-led programming elements.

Therapeutic Secondary Support
We strengthen connections between resources and the community to support survivors where they are in each step of their journey. Everything we do—with survivors, in the community, and as an organization is built for emotional safety—for every body.
Flexible & Trained Staff
Our team brings together licensed social workers, trauma specialists, beauty professionals, and survivor leaders. With diverse expertise in trauma-informed care—including mental health, substance use, advocacy, suicide prevention, and awareness—we prioritize survivor-led initiatives and maintain sensitive, survivor-centered practices. Team leaders are trained in SOAR, MHFA, Safe Talk, and Restorative Circles, and all staff engage in Reflective Supervision. Every program is delivered in a therapeutic and restorative setting.

Anonymity & Safety
We prioritize the safety and confidentiality of all our students, creating a secure learning environment. Our facility features enhanced security measures, confidential intake processes, and strict privacy protocols to protect survivor identities and ensure their ongoing safety.
Breaking Barriers
We address systemic barriers that prevent survivors from accessing traditional education and employment opportunities. This includes providing transportation assistance, childcare support, flexible scheduling, financial aid, and ongoing mentorship to ensure long-term success.

Human Trafficking Assessment & Intervention Training
Miss Julie's School of Beauty is committed to not only empowering survivors but also raising awareness within the beauty industry. Our training program equips beauty professionals with the knowledge and tools to identify potential victims and take action.
Why Beauty Professionals?
Hair stylists, nail technicians, and other beauty professionals often have unique opportunities to observe clients closely. They may notice physical signs of abuse, such as unexplained injuries or signs of neglect. Additionally, they may pick up on behavioral cues, such as a client's reluctance to make eye contact or a lack of control over their schedule.
By participating in our training, beauty professionals can become essential allies in the fight against human trafficking. They can help identify victims, raise awareness, and ultimately contribute to breaking the cycle of exploitation.
