Miss Julie's School of Beauty is a nonprofit cosmetology school based in Rochester, NY, designed to empower those at risk and survivors of sex trafficking through vocational training. Our cosmetology program and subsequent licensing will offer anonymity and financial stability to those looking to rebuild their lives. We believe your past shouldn't keep you from a beautiful future.

Helps break barriers preventing survivors from starting careers

Referrals: We accept referrals from agencies and organizations, including restorative programs, recovery programs, transitional / supportive housing for survivors of human trafficking and at-risk individuals.

Enrollment: Potential students will undergo an enrollment assessment with our social worker to determine eligibility and suitability for the program.

Requirements: We want our students to succeed, in order to give them time to recover and focus on healing we enroll students who have completed at least 12 months of recovery from harmful or destructive substances and behaviors.

How to Enroll

Our enrollment process is designed to be supportive and trauma- informed, ensuring each student receives the individual attention they need.

Referrals & Initial Contact

Contact us through partner organizations and direct referral. All inquiries are handled with complete confidentiality and sensitivity. By accepting at-risk students as well, we maintain anonymity and safety for all students.

Comprehensive Assessment

Complete enrollment assessment with our trained team including educational background, support needs, and individual goals. Our assessment includes trauma screening, educational evaluation, support service needs analysis, and development of individualized support plans.

Recovery & Readiness

Minimum recovery requirement assessment to ensure students are ready to engage in educational programming. We evaluate physical and mental health stability, safety considerations, and readiness for a structured learning environment.
